Carter devoured 3 more bottles today. His orders are now 4 a day with extras as tolerated. They have increased his feed to 51 mL. The amount that he gets to drink is calculated based on his weight so as he gains weight the more he gets to drink. So eating gets more and more challenging since he is expected to drink more and more as he gets bigger in the same or less amount of time. Carter's strength of the past 72 days has been amazing and this is his last feat before making our dream a reality. We know he can do this and are so excited to see him take all of his bottles. During this nurses week we can't say enough about the knowledge, dedication and comfort that the nurses that have taken care of Carter have meant to us. The have been Carter's lifeline, keeping him safe, making him strong and teaching him life. We are forever indebted to them for the difference they have made in our life and the life of our precious Carter. To the nurses of Florida Hospital Orlando Children's a sincere thank you from Carter, Katie and Matt.
